To be successful in the competitive world of property, any organisation – be it developer, investor or agency – needs to ensure that it employs people with ‘edge’ – those special qualities that separate genuine high achievers from average performers. Over the next few pages I will explain why my company has acquired ‘edge’ over my competitors in identifying and delivering the very best professionals to the UK’s leading property, and property related, organisations.
If I am to represent your company, at any time, I am sure you will want to know a little about what drives and inspires me on a personal level – not just the bare bones about the service I provide.
My need to achieve in my own right has led me to not only set up and run my own successful business – it has also given me the impetus to sail across the Atlantic Ocean, climb Mount Kilimanjaro and trek in many far-flung corners of the world. On one such trip I met a young, deprived, Nepalese boy whose education I subsequently paid for. He is now a leading light in his own community.
Back home, I founded the Property Industry Annual Dinner in aid of UNICEF, to help the charity’s many projects with deprived children across the globe. This event has raised more than £500,000 for UNICEF to date. I also founded the Property Industry Award for High Achievement in 1998. The Award is now seen as one of the most prestigious accolades conferred in the UK property sector.
Most important of all I love dealing with people and, in particular, property people. I am passionate about the sector and consider myself very fortunate to play a role in helping ensure that those at the top have the combination of professional skills, drive, personality and creative impulse to add real value to their employing organisations and, thereby, to the property industry as a whole.
